MARJORIE (MARGE) FLORENCE HUNTER 1921 - 2000 On December 30, 2000 heaven received a truly beautiful angel. Mom was predeceased by her husband Wellington (Wally) March 1994; and leaves to cherish her memory her children and their spouses, Cheryl (Alain) Proulx, Linda (David) Ducharme, Gary Hunter, Kim (Glenn) Mathews; a loving grandmother to, Evan, Michelle, Christopher, Amanda, Trevor, Danielle, Meagan and Riley; her sisters, Grace, Mary and Bertha; sisters-in-law, Bessie and Beattie as well as special niece Gerry and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Marge was born in Winnipeg on March 15, 1921 to Anne and Edgar Stockley and was the youngest of a family of eight. Mom worked for the Eatons Mail Order until her marriage to Dad July 18, 1953. She lived in the same neighborhood for 42 years and made many good friends. Her biggest love was her children and grandchildren, whom she constantly praised and bragged about. Mom was "young at heart" and always very socially active. She enjoyed her cribbage playing, bowling, baking, singing and music. She volunteered at the Misericordia Hospital Gift Shop for the past 22 years and was a lifelong member of St. Ignatius Church. Mom was a true people person, she instilled the importance of close family ties to her children. She was a kind, compassionate lady and her family meant the world to her. Special thanks to Dr. Paul Daeninck and Tracy and the staff from Cancer Care and to the staff from 8th floor Palliative Care at the St. Boniface Hospital for their care and kindness to mom. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service for Marge will be held 3:00 p.m., Thursday, January 4, 2001 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. As an expression of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Marges memory to Cancer Care Manitoba, St. Boniface Unit, or the Palliative Care Unit 8th floor, St. Boniface Hospital, 409 Tache Avenue, R2H 9Z9.
