MARION SIMPKIN Peacefully in her sleep on December 19, 2000, at the Dr. Evelyn Memorial Hospital in Stonewall, Marion Simpkin age 79 years passed away. Marion was born on March 21, 1921 in Lancashire, England. She was predeceased by her husband Howard Samuel Simpkin on July 9, 1980. She is survived by her only daughter Barbara (Craig) Pottinger of Eriksdale, MB; grandson Peter (Aimee) Monkman of Inwood, MB; great-granddaughter Makayla, grandson Tracy and great-granddaughter Stephanie, along with her family members in England. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2001 at the Arnason Funeral Home in Lundar. The service will conclude at the chapel, and with Marions wishes, her cremains will be laid to rest in her birthplace, England. Special thanks are extended to Jean Graham of Stonewall, MB, who looked after Mom for many years during her stay in Stonewall. Also thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Stonewall Hospital for the exceptional care they gave our Mom and to the Arnason Funeral Home in Ashern for their kindness and compassion.
