CHRISTINA ISABELLA CRAWFORD (LAWSON) MASON 1910 - 2000 It is with heartfelt sorrow that the family announces the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, Mrs. Christina Isabella Mason on Thursday, December 28, 2000 at the age of 90 years. Left to cherish her memory are her four sons and their families, Bob (Carolanne), Art (Carole), Herb (Carla), Vic (Carol-Ann) grandchildren, Debbie, Crystal, Susan, Wendy, Kathy, Leanne, Lainie, Shauna, Trevor, Chris and Holly; great-grandchildren, Kristen, Dana, Sierra, Shalyn, Mitchell, Emma, Breanna, Darbey, Gavin and Brynne; seven step-grandchildren and their families. Chris will also be missed by her sister Maggie Chartrand and sister-in-law Emma Waterman and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1977; grandsons, Alan Mason, Randy Mason and Robert Mason Jr.; her father George Lawson, mother Agnes Waterman and sister Edith Gauld; brothers, Stuart Lawson, George Waterman and Bob Waterman. Chris was born in Melita, MB on September 25, 1910. At a young age her family moved to Oak Point, MB where she attended school and later met her husband Bill and they farmed there for many years. In 1950 they moved to Kenora, ON where Chris worked for many years at the Northland Hotel and Coffee Shop and Dons Bakery. In 1976, Bill and Chris retired to Winnipeg where Chris resided until September of 2000 when she moved to Swalwell, AB with her son Bob. She was a member of the Kenora Moose Lodge and the Kenora Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch #12. Chris was always there to lend a helping hand and helped the country doctor to deliver many a baby on the farms. Her home was always open for friends and family to share a meal, or a cup of tea and conversation. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Kenora Community Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 3, 2001 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Kenora Community Funeral Home on Thursday, January 4 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Cathy Giroux officiating. Interment will follow in the Lake of the Woods Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, the family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the charity of your choice. Arrangements are by the Kenora Community Funeral Home and the Pattison Funeral Home and Crematorium, Medicine Hat, AB.
