Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN (BETTY) ELIZABETH CROWLEY Peacefully on Wednesday January 3, 2001, Betty Crowley passed away at the Grace Hospital surrounded by her family, at the age of 76. Mom was predeceased by her devoted husband John of 49 years on November 16, 2000; she leaves to cherish her love and memories, her children, Jay (Lina), Rob (Dawn), Regan (Harold) Hermann, Maureen Macaw, Shaune (Rob) Altarui, and 12 grandchildren. Mom also leaves to mourn brother-in-law Richard Crowley, sister-in-law Margaret Miller and many nieces and nephews. Mom was born in Winnipeg on September 13, 1924, to John and Elizabeth Quinn, the youngest of five children. After attending St. Marys Academy, Mom worked for the C.N.R. before marrying Dad in July 1951. Mom devoted her love, energy and time to raising, educating and chauffeuring five energetic and active children. She loved sharing in their accomplishments and endeavours and never hesitated in giving her point of view on most subjects. There was always room at her table for the extra mouths that accompanied her family. Mom was involved in many types of activities, the CWL at St. John Brebeuf Church, playing bridge with friends, golfing at Southwood GCC or meeting with her stitchery group. She loved spending her summers at Clearwater Bay, Ont., with her family, and winters in Florida or Palm Desert with Dad. Highlights of her travel include the many trips throughout North America, Europe and New Zealand with Dad, and her educational escapades with her three daughters throughout their formative years. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the John and Betty Crowley Bursary Fund in care of St. Pauls High School, 2200 Grant Ave., Winnipeg, Man., R3P 0P8. Prayers will be said on Monday, January 8, at 9:45 a.m., followed by a memorial mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. John Brebeuf Roman Catholic Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Pl., with the Rev. Fr. Michael K. Koryluk the celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Marys Cemetery. Mom, you have taught us well, watch over and protect us like you always have. We love you and miss you.
