ROLAND MICHAEL KITCHUR It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Roland Michael Kitchur on January 2, 2001. Roland was born at Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, Manitoba on February 24, 1958. He was raised in Gypsumville where he attended school and met many of his lifelong friends. After school, Rolands ambitions took him away from Gypsumville to work for a number of construction companies - of which Roland enjoyed. Roland worked hard and played hard, so in efforts to combine the two, Roland and Kim purchased the Gypsumville Hotel in 1994. "Bull" enjoyed being at the Hotel and was in his element entertaining the many that would stop by. He was known for his sense of humour and could always make people laugh. His zest for life allowed him to live every moment to the fullest, even after his accident in 1999. Rolands friendships were one of the most important things in his life, and he will be missed by many. Roland will be sadly missed by his wife Kim; daughter Tara; mother Erna; sister Lorraine (Gerald) brother Gordon (Darrel) niece Treena; nephews, Darren and Kevin and numerous friends and relatives. Roland was predeceased by his father Mac in 1981 and his best friend Rick in 1999. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, in the Gypsumville Community Hall with Rev. Stan Fowke officiating. Service will terminate at the hall with interment in the Gypsumville Cemetery at a later date. Everyone in attendance can consider themselves honorary pallbearers.
