Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER THIESSEN Peacefully, surrounded by family, on January 4, 2001, at the Concordia Hospital, Peter Thiessen went to heaven into the arms of his beloved wife Mary. He was born June 17, 1916, at Heiboden, Man. He was predeceased by his wife Mary; his brother Abe; stepbrother Dick Schroeder, his sister-in-law Susan Schroeder and his brother-in-law Dick Loeppky. He will be sadly missed by his children and their spouses, Walter and Betty, Pat and Eugene, Gail and Jack, Patrick and Lorraine, Sandra, Geri and Michael, Richard and Amar, Flora, Peter and Kathy, Phillip, Lana, Bill and Ursula, Colleen and Shawn and his special niece Bonnie; by his grandchildren and their spouses, Michelle, Pamela, John-Paul, Shawna and Dan, Cam, Matt, Meghan, Daniel, Seamon and John, Jonathan and Pat, Stephanie and Skip, Spencer, Sam, Antonio and Susan, Mary and Rob, Shonda, Amar, Richard, Miriam, Peter and Kurtis, Sean and Jen, Eric, Peter, Christian and Mandy, Derek, Danielle, Gabe and Hannah; by his great-grandchildren, Zachary, Rose and Lola, Mia, Samantha, Katherine and Matthew, Kayla, Jasmine, Lorick and Dedrick; by his many brothers and sisters as well as special friends. Peter married Mary Mansfield on December 10, 1941, in Pipestone, Man. They were together for 52 years. He was a carpenter, working as a foreman for Bird Construction for many years until his retirement. He was greatly respected in the industry for his work and his integrity. However, his entire life was dedicated to his wife and children, and their children. His family was his first priority even throughout his own illness. He was a man of few words, but there were some phrases he would always say, "Drive careful," "Well, Mary..." and "Everythings going to be alright." Funeral is Monday, January 8, at 11:00 a.m. at Christian Fellowship Chapel, 465 Osborne St. Viewing at 10:00 a.m. The family would like to give a very special thank-you to Vicki and Elaine at the Donwood and Val and the other staff at the Concordia Hospital for taking exceptional care of their father. "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff comfort me." (Psalm 23:4)
