Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEVEN DYRDA Accidentally on Thursday, January 4, 2001, Steve Dyrda, aged 74 years beloved husband of Sophie Dyrda of Teulon. Born January 29, 1926 at Teulon, Steve left school early to take over the family farm at the age of 14 and continued to farm until his sudden passing. Surviving besides his wife Sophie; two sons and two daughters, Patricia and husband Glenn Mohan of Winnipeg, Steven Patrick and wife Beverly of Teulon, Janet Dyrda and Greg Dyrda, both of Teulon; grandchildren, Zachary and Jordan Mohan; Steven and Ashley Dyrda; one brother Michael and wife Paulette Dyrda of Oak Bank; sister-in-law Mary Dyrda of Teulon and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Harold and John; one sister Annie Genick. Dad was proud of all his children. He and Mom worked hard and instilled the value of hard work, personal strength and sacrifice in every one of us. Dad loved his grandchildren. Each time he waited eagerly for his grand kids to visit Gigi. Whether he was playing cards with Ashley and Steven or bouncing Zachary and Jordan on his knee, the house was filled with laughter. Farming was the only life Dad knew and loved. When spring came around, he was eager to get out onto the fields. The smell of fresh spring air called out to him. He enjoyed touring his farms cross country to check on his crops, watching the young calves frolicking in the pasture, working the fields through day and night sitting high in his new John Deere combine. These all were his passions. Almost every Saturday night you could be sure that Dad was sitting at the kitchen table listening to his polka music on the radio. He also enjoyed reading, watching his favourite TV programs and visiting with his friends. Prayers will be held on Monday, January 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 9 at 2:30 p.m. in the Teulon Rockwood Centennial Centre. Rev. Fr. Mark Gnutel will officiate. Interment will follow in the Windsor Cemetery, Teulon.
