PAULA (PAULINE) VERONICA McGILL (nee HAJLASZ) Peacefully, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer, Pauline passed away at the Grace General Hospital on Thursday, January 4, 2001 at the age of 61 years and was the beloved wife of Wayne of Winnipeg, Man. Besides her husband Wayne, remaining to forever cherish her memory are her sister Irene (Clayton) Irwin; nieces, Shannon, Cheryl, Rhonda; brother Sigmund Hajlasz; nieces, Yvonne, Jennifer; nephew Michael; three great-nieces and four great-nephews as well as many relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Stefan and Maria Hajlasz; father and mother-in-law, George and Mabel McGill; brothers, Michael and Frank and by her sister Louise. Pauline was born on December 3, 1939 in Watson, Sask., and moved to Portage la Prairie in 1958. She married Wayne McGill in July of 1964. Pauline was employed by the Manitoba Telephone System from October 6, 1958 until her retirement on December 31, 1994. She was kind hearted and took great pleasure in helping others. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and her houseplants. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday, January 9 at 10:30 a.m., in the Parish of St. Paul The Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2400 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Man., with Rev. Msgr. Ward Jamieson presiding. Interment will take place in the Bethel Cemetery in Treherne, Man., at a later date. Our family would like to thank the Palliative Care Staff 4 West at the Grace General Hospital. Flowers are gratefully declined. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Paulines memory to the Canadian Cancer Society (Manitoba Division), 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7 or The Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3.
