GISELA (GAY) KOMADOWSKI (nee JAHN) July 29, 1930 - January 5, 2001 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Gisela (Gay) at her home with her children at her side. Mom was predeceased by her husband Frank in 1996; her father Fritz in 1996 and her mother Herta in 1992. To treasure her memory, Mom leaves behind her daughter Pat, husband Warren Piggott (grandson Robert, Brian) and her son Albert, wife Valerie (Janet and Shannon [Ray]). Gay will also be lovingly remembered by her sister Dagmar (Fred Rittle) numerous sisters and brothers-in-law as well as her nieces, nephews and friends. Gisela (Gay) was born in Berlin, Germany. With her husband, who was returning home, she came to Canada in 1950 to start her new home in East Selkirk until 1982 when they moved to Selkirk. Albert and Pat would like to give a special thanks to Aunty June who was there for Mom throughout her courageous battle with cancer. To Dr. Fuchs who was always there in guiding us on how to give Mom the best care we could at home. To the caring and compassionate ladies from home care who excelled in meeting Moms needs and touching our lives in very special ways. Prayers will be said on Sunday (today) at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 8 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, East Selkirk with Fr. Jerry Talarski officiating. Interment in the Parish Cemetery. Her pallbearers will be brothers-in-law, Joe and John Komadowski; nephews, Lawrence and Clarence Lefko and friends, Steve Fedak and Bobbie Kubic. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gays memory to Selkirk and District General Hospital, Box 5000, Selkirk, Man., R1A 2M2. Pat and Albert are grateful for the wisdom and guidance in lifes lessons that Mom gave us. May the winds of love blow softly And whisper so you can hear. We will always "love and miss you", And wish that you were here. Thank you Mom for beautiful memories and the example of your courage to go on. The Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline St, Selkirk, 482-3271.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Lost contact to my Cousins Pat and Albert Komadowski and did not hear anything for years! Even the sad message of the death of my Mother, their aunt Dagmar Rittel, on December 03, 2009 did not reach my relatives in Canada. Maybe this Message can be forwarded to Pat and Albert! - Posted by: Alexander Rittel (Cousin) on: Mar 04, 2012
