MARJORIE ELLEN BERNICE SPROTT Peacefully, on Thursday, January 4, 2001, at the Boyne Lodge in Carman, MB, Marjorie Sprott, aged 80 years, passed away with her family by her side. Marj was born on the Andrews family farm in the Sharon District near Miami, MB on September 11, 1920 to Harlen and Ellen Andrews, the third of nine children. She married her childhood sweetheart, Allan Sprott, in September of 1941. Marj was predeceased by her husband, Allan, in 1998, her daughter, Judith, in 1945 and by her parents and brother, Earl. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Larry, Kathy (Malcolm), Lee (Lovey) and Brian (Lori) 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; her brothers: John (Dorothy), Lloyd (Dorothy), Arnie (Ruth), Don (Noreen) and Lyle (Joyce), and her sisters, Muriel (Stewart) and Margaret (Stewart). In 1946 Marj and Al built the family business, Carman Frosted Foods, which they operated until their retirement. Marj was involved in the Carman Kinette Club, the K-40s and her bridge club. Outdoor activities were a great part of her life and she and Dad had a vacation home in Lake of the Woods for 25 years where she loved to entertain friends and family. The grandchildren have wonderful memories of long walks, rock climbing, blueberry picking, swimming and water skiing. Marj took great pride and pleasure in her yard and flowers and was the recipient of the Yard of the Decade award in 1990. She had a wide and varied circle of friends and shared a special bond with her neighbours on Lynwood Place. The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the staff of the Boyne Lodge for their loving care and attention during the last months of Moms life. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the Carman United Church Building Fund or to the Boyne Lodge, Box 1644 Carman, MB R0G 0J0. At Marjs request cremation has taken place. Interment of ashes will be held at a later date. Funeral Service will be held from the Carman United Church in Carman, Manitoba on Tuesday, January 9 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Harold Kenyon officiating. Doyles Funeral Chapel of Carman in care of arrangements.

  • Just recovering old dining room furniture and saw your Mom and dads name on the bottom of one of the chairs. Wonder if they put their names and date of purchase all their furniture. 😁. Anyway thought I’d write a note. Their dining room set has ended up back at LOTW. Beautiful obit. You look like you have a great family with wonderful memories.
