MAY KNIGHTS MACDONALD Peacefully, on Friday, January 5, 2001, May passed away at Riverview Health Centre in the presence of family and friends. May was born in Winnipeg on September 24, 1902 and was predeceased by her husband Dean Albert Edward Macdonald in 1963 and by her great-grandson Matthew in 2000. She is survived by her son James (Shirley) of Barrie, Ont; her daughter Sybil (Vance Carson) of Calgary, Alta; granddaughters, Karen, Cathy, Lynda, Tracy and Jane in Calgary and Vancouver, grandson Steven in Brampton, Ont., and 13 great-grandchildren. Of noteworthy mention Mays mother Gertrude Louise Cornish and father Frederick Thomas Knights were part of early Winnipeg history and her great-grandfather (Cornish) was a former mayor of Winnipeg. May was a valued member of Chapter H. P.E.O. sisterhood and a lifetime member of the St. Andrews River Heights United Church and a member of the Engineers Wives Club. It is not with sadness that we announce her departure, but we are enlightened to know that she is now with God, and in a far better place. Mays family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of the Health Sciences Centre and Riverview Health Centre for their caring and compassion. There will be a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10 in the Thomson Funeral Chapels with a reception to follow. The service will terminate at the chapels. Flowers are gratefully declined, however donations may be made in Mays name to Lions Manor, 320 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg R3B 2W6. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
