JOSEPH ROMANCHUK On January 6, 2001, Joe passed away at the age of 90 years. He is survived by his brother, Michael of Stead, MB; sister, Mary Edith Niblock; nephew, Robert (Merna) Niblock; great-nephews, Todd (Elke) Niblock and Troy Niblock, all of Winnipeg. Joe was born in Brokenhead, MB on December 24, 1910. His parents, Sam and Alexandra Romanchuk immigrated from Ukraine in 1908 and homesteaded at Stead in 1913. In the mid 1930s, Joe and his brother ran one of the first threshing crews in the area. He farmed with his brother in the area until his retirement in the mid 1970s. Thanks are extended to the H5 staff at the Health Sciences Centre and the 6W staff at Deer Lodge Centre for their kindness and support. Prayer service will be held on Wednesday, January 10 at 7:00 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 1175 Main St. Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Reverend A. Harkavyi on Thursday, January 11 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Johns Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Stead, MB. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Health Sciences Centre Foundation, MS7-67-820 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, R3A 1R9 or to the St. Johns Ukrainian Orthodox Church, in care of A.
