HERBERT SCARTH After a brief illness Herbert Scarth, beloved husband of Rose, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 7, 2001 at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 77 years. Besides his wife of 54 years, he will be sadly missed by his children, Randall (Janet), Larry (Connie), Glenn (Janice) and Rhonda; and his grandchildren, Chris, Paul, Warren, Adam and Taylor. He also leaves to mourn his passing his brothers and sisters, Violet, Dorothy, Beatrice, Don and Ted. During the war he became an airframe mechanic in the air force. After the war he returned to Christies and then worked at CP Rail and Trans Canada Airlines. Herb and Rose spent many enjoyable years at the family cottage at Brereton Lake. The cottage was started in 1955 when bush was cleared and family members gave a hand. Herb was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather. Herb and Rose loved to travel and visited Europe, Hawaii, Cuba and the States. They especially enjoyed their frequent visits to Roses family in Las Vegas. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Unit 4 of Seven Oaks Hospital. Cremation has already taken place and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
