Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALEXANDER LIWYJ On Saturday, January 6, 2001 at Concordia, our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather Alex Liwyj passed away peacefully at 85 years of age. Alexander was predeceased in 1993 by his dear wife Natalia of 55 years. He lived alone in their family home on Aikins Street until December 24, 2000 when he was admitted to the hospital with declining health. He was born April 3, 1915 in Popiwka, Ukraine. The family was swept up with the German occupation and in 1947 found themselves in US occupied Germany. Alex lived in various areas of Germany and Belgium until immigrating to Canada in 1951. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Halina and her husband Walter Iwanson of Vancouver; his son Arkady Edward Liwyj and his wife Yvonne of Winnipeg; his grandson Peter James Liwyj, wife Lisa, and their children, Christina and Stephanie of Winnipeg; and his grandson Anthony Edward Liwyj of Barrie, Ontario. The family wish to express their gratitude and thanks to Dr. Peter F.X. Kuegle, to the Concordia Hospital Staff, and to the Home Care workers who helped Alexander so much. Friends may call to join the family for a visitation on Thursday, January 11 from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. in Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., Aubrey Street entrance. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., entrance on Aubrey St. NEIL BARDAL INC 949-2200
