Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT GIROUX Peacefully on Monday, January 8, 2001 at the age of 76 years, Robert "Bob" passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital, with his family at his side. He was predeceased by his parents; three brothers; one sister, and his son Barry. Bob leaves to cherish his memory his wife Adrienne; six daughters, Lynn Ponton (Bruce), Terry Noble (Nick), Jeanne Sarkonak (Raymond), Lucy McWha (Les), Tracey Scott (Joe), Patty Gergely (Zoltan Jr.) three sons, Bert Bibeau (Cathy), Mike Bibeau (Joan), and David Giroux (Florence) 21 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother; three sisters; numerous nieces and nephews. Dad was born and raised in Kenora, ON on August 4, 1924. He was a Second World War veteran serving with the Canadian Tank Division overseas. After his return, he was employed in several fields, retiring in 1987 after many years in the retail grocery business. Dad enjoyed hobbies such as woodworking, playing cards, golf, fishing and watching NHL Hockey. Pallbearers will be Dads sons-in-law, Bruce, Nick, Raymond, Les, Joe and Zoltan Jr. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 11 at 2:00 p.m. with viewing at 1:30 p.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. No. 1 East at Navin Road. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Bobs memory to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6, or the charity of ones choice. The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff on 6A West, St. Boniface General Hospital. A special thanks to R.N. David for the comfort he provided to the family in our time of sorrow.
