ROBERT "BOB" THOMAS HALL We sadly announce on Sunday, January 7, 2001 at the Portage District General Hospital, Robert "Bob" Hall of Westbourne, passed away at the age of 59 years. Funeral service will be held at Trinity United Church, Portage la Prairie, on Thursday, January 11 at 1:30 p.m. with Mr. Keith Lambert officiating. Interment will follow in the Westbourne Cemetery. Bob was born on April 2, 1941 in Portage la Prairie, MB. He lived all his life in Westbourne where he attended Nora School and Westbourne School. He was a member of the Westbourne 4-H where he was active in the garden, chicken and beef clubs during his youth. He grew up on the family farm where he worked with his dad Thomas and his son Gordon. Bobs life revolved around farming and his children. His love for sports was fulfilled through his devotion and dedication in accompanying his children to their numerous hockey and ringette games. Bob enjoyed fabricating iron, using his welding skills for uses on the farm and for his hobbies. Bobs disability never stopped him from being active in the community or enjoying life. Bob loved to visit and always had a quick smile for all jokes and stories. Bob was serving his 18th year as councillor of the R.M. of Westbourne and had also served on the Whitemud Watershed Subdistrict Board. Predeceased by his wife Linda (Pottinger) his parents, Thomas and Clara Hall. He leaves to mourn his passing his dear friend Pearl Prokosh; his son Gordon (Terri) Hall, grandchildren, Daniel and Megan; daughter Leanne (John) Sollner, grandchildren, Mark, Amanda, Owen and Pryce. Also surviving are three sisters, Betty Anne (Mike) Fawcett, Judy (Brian) Zatina, Diane (Wayne) Bott and many nieces and nephews. Should friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the Westbourne Cemetery, The Canadian Diabetes Association or The Canadian Cancer Society. The Omega Funeral Home is in care of the arrangements.
