JOHN (WILLIE) DYCK The death of John (Willie) Dyck, beloved husband of Margaret, occurred at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Sunday, January 21, 2001. John was born at Horndean, MB and raised on the family farm. His family moved to Winnipeg in 1950 where John completed his education. John met Margaret in Winnipeg and they were married on June 1, 1957. Johns employment began in sales, which eventually lead him into the bread industry. He was employed with Westons Bakeries as a bread salesman between 1967 and 1989. In 1989 he retired due to ill health. Over the years John was a member of the Army and Navy Legion and a longtime member of the Brandon Club where he served as president for a short time. Fishing, camping, curling, bowling and shuffleboard were some of the activities he enjoyed. John is survived by and will lovingly be remembered by his wife Margaret of Brandon; daughters, Sheila (Alfred) Van Sluytman, Toronto, ON, and Cheryl (Doug) Berry, Glenboro, MB; mother Nettie Dyck, Winnipeg; stepsons, Maurice (Linda) Blomme, Winnipeg, and William (Marline) Neil, Cypress River, MB; grandchildren, Donna (Bill) Warren, Tanya Talaga (David Ellis), Yuri Talaga, Chad (Jacki) Berry, and Christine Berry. Also surviving are sister Verna; four great-grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; and five step-great-grand-children. He was predeceased by his father Jacob, sister Joanne, a brother, and twin sisters at birth. The memorial service will be held at Memories Chapel, 330 -18th St. N., Brandon, MB, on Friday, January 26 at 11:00 a.m., with Arlene Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in the Brandon Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Willie may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 203-42 McTavish Ave. E., Brandon, MB R7A 2B2.
