FRANCES PANKIW Peacefully on Monday, January 8, 2001 with her children at her side, Frances Pankiw, passed away at the Hunter Memorial Hospital in Teulon. Frances was predeceased by her parents; one sister; three brothers, and her beloved husband Nick (1995). Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Doreen (Ray) Rusnak, Bernice Shurek, and Alice Setterland; three granddaughters, Estelle Setterland, Tanya Rusnak, Tammy Shurek, and three grandsons, Niki Setterland, Mark and Dale Shurek. She also leaves one sister Alice (Gordon) Drewett; in-laws, Betty Woloshyn, Sophie Ferley, Regina Pankiw, Mary Pankiw, Fred (Edith) Pankiw, plus many nieces and nephews. Frances was born in Komarno, MB on October 12, 1913 and raised in the Pleasant Home area. After marrying Nick in 1942 they farmed in the Teulon area. In 1997 she moved to the Gateway Manor in Teulon. She was a genuine and quiet person whose most important focus in life was her children and grandchildren. Prayers will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, January 12 at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel Teulon. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 13 at St. Stephens Church, Pleasant Home. Very Rev. Henry Lakusta will officiate, with interment to follow in the churchyard cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the staff at the Hunter Memorial Hospital Teulon.
