Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHEODOR "TED" KOSTYNYK Peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital, Theodor Kostynyk passed away on the morning of Tuesday, January 9, 2001, at the age of 73 years. Theodor is survived by his beloved wife Anne of 55 years; sons, Lorne (Marlene), Donald and Kelly (Theresa) daughter Evangelene Januska and grandchildren, Tamatha, Robert, Phillip and Christopher Kostynyk. Also left to mourn are his brothers, Mike (Nellie) Kostynyk of Sundown, Steve (Doris) Kostynyk of Steinbach; sister Lena (Mike) Gushuliak of Surrey, B.C., and many nieces and nephews. Born in Arbakka, Man., on April 19, 1927, Ted moved to Sundown and eventually settled in Winnipeg where he established the family business, Gateway Auto Body, and pursued other endeavours in real estate including the development of Gateside Gardens. Teds creative talents led him to design and construct several homes and other projects. He had many interests and passions including a love of music and nature. For years Ted played the banjo at special events and celebrations throughout southern Manitoba in a band with his brother Mike. Ted was also an avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast who enjoyed many hours fishing, hunting and golfing. After travelling extensively with his wife Anne, Ted enjoyed spending time with his family especially with his four grandchildren, both at his home and at the family cottage at Falcon Lake. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 12, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 455 Douglas Ave. Pallbearers are Tom Antoniuk, Doug Fosty, Eugene Kiansky, Amel Kostynyk, George McQuade and Clifford Simpson. Special thanks to Dr. G. Balko and the staff on A6 at St. Boniface Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
