MARY ELIZABETH McBEATH (nee COUTTS) Mary Elizabeth McBeath (nee Coutts), died peacefully in her sleep following a stroke, a month short of her 100th birthday. Born January 30, 1901, in Halkirk, Caithness, Scotland, she made her home in Winnipeg from 1921 to 1976. After the death of her husband John in 1976 she moved to Vancouver. She was predeceased by her daughter Hannah ORourke in Ohio and her grandson Paul Thompson. She is survived by her two daughters, Jane Mallary of Chico, California and Agnes Thompson of Vancouver, BC; her son John of Calgary, AB, 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends who will always remember her indomitable spirit, her cheery disposition and her wonderful sense of humour. The family thanks the nurses and staff at Youville and St. Vincents Langara for their loving care.
