GERIE CHABINYC Gerie Chabinyc aged 86 passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 10, 2001, at the Seven Oaks Hospital. She is survived by her niece Sandra Elwood (Brian) brother Mike Chabinyk; sister Olga De Gagne; niece Terry Rozall (John) and several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Margaret Chabinyc and brothers, Harry and Peter Chabinyc. Gerie was born and raised in Winnipeg. She worked for many years in the upholstery industry. Gerie was very proud of the fact that in her 50s she went to Red River College and received a secretarial diploma. After graduation, she worked for the Holy Family Nursing home until her retirement. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 13 at 11:00 a.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy #1 East at Green Acres Lane. The family would like to thank the staff of the Maples Nursing Home for her care over the past 1 years.
