JUAN GREGORIO ALVEAR It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend and teacher. Juan passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2001 with his family at his side. He will be greatly missed. Juan was born in Chile on May 13, 1934. He was exiled to Winnipeg, Canada in 1976, where he lived until his passing. In Chile, his vocation was teaching and he was also a Principal. In Canada, although not formerly teaching at any school, he continued to teach all of those around him. "It is only when we truly know and understand that we have a limited time on earth - and that we have no way of knowing when our time is up - that we will begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it was the only one we had." Elisabeth Kubler Ross Juan was one of the few people that truly understood this passage. He, unlike most of us, lived his life with an appreciation and admiration of its every detail. Lets learn from Juans love of music; his attention to detail; his appreciation of literature; his ability to help any plant grow and flourish; his patience when teaching; his extraordinary sense of humour; the joy he felt when giving; and his ability to become a child again when surrounded by children. Cremation has taken place. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, January 13 at 6:00 p.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. Msgr. Maurice Comeault P.H., V.F. officiating. Service terminates at the chapel. The family wishes to thank all of the health team in ward GD6 at the Health Sciences Centre for their extraordinary compassion and tenderness. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Juans memory to Cancer Care Manitoba. KNYSH FUNERAL CHAPEL 582-0973
