GEORGE WILLIAM ELRICK 1920 - 2001 Peacefully on January 10, 2001, George passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital. He will be lovingly missed by his wife Jean; daughter Maureen (Gary) sons, Douglas (Bernice) and David; grandchildren, Sherri, Gregg and Ryan Elrick and many nieces and nephews. George was born in West Kildonan and continued to be a longtime resident. He attended school in West Kildonan where he met his wife Jean of 59 years. George served in the RCAF overseas from 1941 to 1946. He resumed his career with Grey Hound Lines for 32 years, then went to work for RJR MacDonald, retiring in 1985. He belonged to West Kildonan Seniors Recreation Club and enjoyed golf and curling. He also enjoyed bowling at Mozienko Lanes and was a member of the McBeth House Seniors. He had a very positive outlook on life and was a very caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. Donations in Georges memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8. Memorial service will be held in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., on Tuesday, January 16 at 10:00 a.m. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre.
