JOSEPH ROBERT GUIMOND May 23, 1929 - January 11, 2001 After a battle with cancer on Thursday, January 11, 2001 at the Pine Falls Hospital, Pine Falls, Man., Joseph Guimond aged 71 years, beloved husband of the late Mary Louise Guimond. Joe leaves to mourn his children, Sandra (Glen) of Sagkeeng, Henry of Sagkeeng, Bernadette (Scott) of Winnipeg, Eileen and friend Mike of Winnipeg, Sam (Kathy) of Winnipeg, Clement of Winnipeg; brother Ralph (Lillian) Bruyere of Sagkeeng; step brother Bill (Bertha) of Virden; sister Janet Bruyere of Winnipeg; step sisters, Mary Guimond of Sagkeeng, Verna Mann, Darlene Kent and Barbara Guimond all of Winnipeg. Also surviving are a special aunt and uncle Joe H. and Dora Guimond of Sagkeeng, 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Predeceased by wife Mary Louise Guimond; parents, Augustine and Beatrice Guimond; daughter Marylena Guimond; brother Philip Guimond; sister Albina Courchene; nephew Philip C. Guimond. Wake services will be held at the St. Alexander Roman Catholic Church, Ft. Alexander, Man. beginning Friday, January 12. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 15 at 2:00 p.m. also from the Church with Fr. Laval Cloutier officiating. Services will terminate at the church with cremation to follow. Interment of his cremated remains will take place in the spring.
