DORIS SHIRLEY PILCHER (nee PHILLIPS) Peacefully and with the dignity that she so well deserved, Doris, age 72 passed away with her entire family at her side at the Seven Oaks Hospital at 11:10 a.m. on Friday, January 12, 2001 after a 17 month battle with cancer. Doris leaves to mourn her loving husband of 49 years, Gordon; also her three sons, Randy (Wendy), grandchildren, Christopher and Charlene, Kevin and Brett (Dawn Marie), grandchildren, Brittney and Tristan; sister Rose Walker and numerous nieces, nephews and friends, along with special friend and confidante Maureen. The grandchildren, Christopher, Charlene, Brittney and Tristan were her everything. Doris was predeceased by her parents, William and Mabel Phillips; also her sisters, Mabel Gould, Dolly Hossack, Ivy Doughie and Margaret Mackling, and her brothers, Bill, Jim, Ed and Gordie. Upon Doris request, cremation has taken place, and a private interment will be held at a later date. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 15 at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., Aubrey Street entrance. The family gives special thanks to Dr. Mark Kristianson for his gentle caring and respect. Thanks to those special nurses of U-1 on the 5th floor, and the Oncology ward of the Seven Oaks Hospital, you were a blessing. Flowers gratefully declined.
