HERBERT EDWARD (HERB) BUSS Another angel is in heaven as Herb, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and faithful friend, passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital, January 15, 2001 with family and friends at his side. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 47 years, Vera; his daughters, Lorna Diaz, Kathy Onizak and husband Barry, Tammy Buss and special friend Lyle Nay and daughters; his grandchildren, Jason Diaz, Kris Diaz and fiance Riel Dion, Michael, Jeffrey and Steven Onizak; his brothers, Leonard and wife Olga of Golden Bay, Alfred and wife Theresa of Beausejour, Willie of Trail, BC, Gordon and wife Elsie of Winnipeg, Reinhold and wife Betty of Golden Bay and George and wife Gert of Langenburg, SK and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and everyone he met. Herb was predeceased by his son Gerald; parents, Henry and Matilda Buss; sister-in-law Doreen Buss and nephew Brian Buss. Born on July 16, 1935 in Golden Bay, MB, Herb moved to Winnipeg in 1953. Herb and Vera (nee Paulishyn) started their married life on November 21, 1953. During his more than 40 years of service at Furnasman, the devotion and pride he showed in his work touched the hearts of all those he worked with and for. Always ready to help anyone with a problem, from a simple heating and cooling question to problems of the heart, Herbs wisdom and compassion warmed homes and hearts. Herb was an active Christian and member of Christ Memorial Lutheran Church and later, Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church serving in various positions for the Lords work. The family would like to thank all our Christian friends and neighbours across Canada for all their prayers and support during this difficult time. Special thanks to Dr. R. Wong, Dr. Olweny, Dr. Morham and Dr. Erhard and to nurses, Koree, Dave and Anita for their special care and support. Prayers will be said at the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 1541 St. Marys Rd. on Wednesday, January 17 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 18 at 1:00 p.m. also in the church, with Pastor James Fritsche officiating. Friends may pay their respects at the church between 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday and one half hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens (Hwy. No. 1 East at Navin Rd.) Pallbearers will be Joe Stefanec, Bill English, Keith Sample, Bill Stevens, Peter Neczkar and Paul Guillou. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Beautiful Savior Memorial Fund in Herbs name. GREEN ACRES FUNERAL CHAPEL 222-3241
