FLORA WOODHOUSE December 1, 1931 - January 16, 2001 It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing and short illness of Flora Woodhouse at the Victoria General Hospital on January 16, 2001 at 1:00 a.m. Flora was born December 1, 1931 at Lake St. Martin. On January 19, 1949 she married Art Woodhouse. Flora and Art were married for 43 years and together raised their children at Fairford, Man. After Art passed away, Flora moved to Lake St. Martin to be with her daughters and later moved to Hilbre, Man., with her companion of six years, Len Irwin. She leaves to mourn her two daughters, Winnie (Norman) Traverse of Lake St. Martin, Martha (Hughie) Sumner of Lake St. Martin; one foster son Glen Beardy; eight grandchildren, Jacqueline (Eugene) whom she raised and considered her own daughter and her great-granddaughter Angel who was born April 12, 2000 who was her pride and joy, Jackies boys, Timothy, Richard andDesmond. Richard was a very special grandson and one special great-grandson Delaney Sinclair. Floras other grandchildren, Veronica (Derek), Norman (Shirley) Traverse, Natalie and Shannon, Iris Thompson, Myrna (Darren), Myron (Tammy) Esther and Les; her twenty great-grandchildren; her sisters, Lorrain and family, Violet Ross and family; her brothers, Dave Traverse and family, Maurice and family; her brothers-in-law, Einar and Alice Woodhouse, Marshall (Barbara) Woodhouse, Garnet (Loretta) Woodhouse; sisters-in-law, Grace Woodhouse and family, Elma (Ken) Letandre, Sophie Sinclair, Edith Koltalo and Joyce Traverse; her son-in-law John Roy Thompson; also many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. Flora was predeceased by her husband Arthur Woodhouse on February 14, 1991 and four daughters, Mary in 1954, Violet in 1956, Christina in 1958 and Irma Thompson on September 9, 1986; her parents, Robert and Emma Traverse; brothers, Alex and George; sisters, Bertha, Alice and Maria; her in-laws, Edward and MaryAnn Woodhouse; brothers-in-law, Willis and Adam; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Ermine and Louisa Mclean; one great-granddaughter Tiffany on December 6, 2000; also numerous nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Friday, January 19 at the Ashern Gospel Chapel, beginning at 7:00 p.m. A wake service will be held on Saturday, January 20 at the Little Saskatchewan Pentecostal Church, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 21 at 12:00 noon at the Church with Rev. Wilfred Bruce and Rev. Clarence Morse officiating. Interment in the Fairford Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bertha Sumner, Grace Woodhouse, Elizabeth Sinclair, Donna Maytwayashing, Alice Anderson, Elsie Bruce, Eva Woodford, Susan Traverse, Gladys Woodhouse, Audrey Handslip, Lorraine Anderson, Vernon Traverse, Vaughan Woodhouse, Anthony Woodhouse, Lester Woodhouse, Alex Morse, Robert Morse, Norman Traverse Jr., Norman Woodhouse, Mickey Woodhouse, Cecil Woodhouse, Justin Woodhouse and Teddy Woodhouse. Active Pallbearers will be Aaron McLean, Richard Woodhouse, Matthew Traverse, Myron Thompson, Shannon Nepinak, Mervin Sinclair. Cross bearer will be Timothy Woodhouse. Thanks to the Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, Dr. Isaacs and Staff, also Victoria General Hospital Doctors and Staff (fourth floor) also thanks to the Intensive Care Unit, Cheryl, Alex and Morna and all the people that came to visit her.
