THOMAS HERBERT ENGLISH Peacefully at home, Thomas (Tom) English passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2001 at the age of 72 years. Tom was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Lillian English. As well, his brother George and his younger brother Edward as a young child. He will be lovingly remembered by his brother Henry (Hazel), and his sister Betty (Harvey) Fleming. He will also be missed by his nephew Howard (Joan) English, niece Lynn (Jean) Olibrice, niece Joan (Ken) Sonnichsen, nephew Jim (Susanna) Fleming, as well as other family and friends. Tom was a long time employee of CNR, Transcona Shops, retiring in 1989 after 44 years of service. Tom was always available to help his friends. He was a good fellow. A funeral service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. on Monday, January 22 at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, and a reception will take place in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. Pallbearers will be Ken Sonnichsen, Jim Fleming, Jean Olibrice, Howard English, Bill English, and Darren Schlamb. Honorary pallbearers will be Wendell Martens, Randy Sonnichsen, Robert Sonnichsen, Richard Sonnichsen, George Rygiel, Art Gitzel, Robin Sonnichsen and Rodger Sonnichsen. Donations in Toms memory may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-5352 Donald St., Winnipeg MB, R3B 2H8.
