Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJUN SUZUKI Peacefully on January 16, 2001 at the Grace General Hospital at the age of 80 years. Jun was predeceased by his parents, Shunosuke and Hide Suzuki. He is survived by his beloved wife Yoshiko Suzuki; son James and Margaret Suzuki, granddaughter Tracey; daughter Debbie and Gerald Peters, grandchildren, Laura, Michelle, David, and Sheryl; brother Toru and Ryoko Suzuki and family, brother Kaoru and Dorothy Suzuki and family; as well as many nieces and nephews. Jun was born on September 12, 1920 in Vancouver, BC. During his childhood he and his family lived in various locations in British Columbia, including Chilliwack, Hope and Strawberry Hill. In 1942, Jun and his family moved inland to Dominion City, MB and later in 1948 to Winnipeg. Jun Suzuki exchanged wedding vows with Yoshiko Kitagawa on February 12, 1955 among family and friends in Winnipeg, MB. Jun was well known and respected in his integral part of Suzuki Bros. Ltd. Construction from 1948 to his retirement in 1985. He took pride in his work and was able to enjoy a prosperous career working with his two younger brothers. Apart from his work life he loved playing golf and was often seen at Breezy Bend Golf and Country Club with his wife Yoshiko. His love of golf also took them to Florida where they were able to continue their sport during Manitobas long cold winters. Jun always enjoyed spending time with his family. Occasionally during the winter months they were able to enjoy the warm weather of Florida with their children and grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Manitoba Buddhist Church, 825 Winnipeg Ave., on Saturday, January 20 at 7:00 p.m. Final Farewell and prayer service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, January 21 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook St. The family would like to thank the staff at the long term care unit at Grace General Hospital for their compassion and care.
