Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON SIMARD (HENRY GORDON) Peacefully, on Tuesday, January 16, 2001 at the Selkirk and District General Hospital with family and friends by his side, Gordon Simard passed away at the age of 77 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Margaret; children, Lenore, Billy (Linda), Debbie (Clint) Washenfelder; grandchildren, Janice, Dave, Darla, Darin and Joey, and five great-grandchildren. He is survived by his brother Leonard (Gladys) of Kelowna, B.C. Gordon was predeceased by his parents, William and Isabel; sisters, Hilda, Lorraine and Nora, and brothers, William and Mickey. Dad was born on February 28, 1923 and lived the first part of his life in Manigotogan. He spent his early years cutting pulp, fishing, trapping and prospecting. He and Margaret later moved to Selkirk where he worked for Shell Oil on Henderson Highway and finally at Abex. During his life he became an expert carpenter having a real talent for working with wood. His many friends respected him immensely for his honesty and hard working ethic. Honorary pallbearers will be brother Leonard, son Billy, grandsons, Dave, Darin, Joey and nephew Freddie Boulette. Cremation has taken place and services will be held at the Notre Dame Catholic Church, 269 Jemima St., Selkirk, Man. at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 20. Thank you to Dr. Bedi, Dr. Antenenko, and the wonderful nursing staff at the Selkirk General Hospital. You were all just wonderful to Gordon during his stay at the hospital. A special thank you to Nonnie and Sam. Your care for Dad will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
