Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT RICHARD CHARLES (DICK) STEVENSON It is with great sadness the family of Dick Stevenson announce his death on January 12, 2001, at the Shoal Lake - Strathclair Health Centre. Dick was born on May 22, 1913, in Shoal Lake, MB, the son of Robert and Nellie Stevenson. He was educated in Kelloe and Shoal Lake. In 1946, he married Jennie Lillian Purdy. They farmed the family farm (18-17-22), raising two children, Harry Robert and Jean Roslyn. In 1974, they retired to their property in Shoal Lake. Dick was active in the Shoal Lake Historical Society and volunteer activities at the Shoal Lake Communi-Plex. He enjoyed travelling, particularly his fifth wheel trips with his grandchildren. Dick was predeceased by his sisters, Kathleen (Henry McFadyn), Roslyn (Ces Alcock) and by his daughter Jean Wilson. He is survived by his loving wife Jennie; son Harry (Bobbie) of Dryden, ON; son-in-law Jack Wilson of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Jason (Sarah) Stevenson of Kenora, ON, and Karie Wilson of Pickle Lake, ON, and Kris Wilson of Winnipeg. We will fondly remember our husband, father, and grandfather for the qualities embodied in his grandchildren. A passion for flying - his granddaughter Karie a pilot; his ability to fix and build - his grandson Kris an engineer; and his love for poetry and history - his grandson Jason a secondary school English teacher. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to the Shoal Lake Handi-Van, the Shoal Lake Communi-Plex, or the Canadian Kidney Foundation. In accordance with Dicks wishes, cremation has taken place. Following a private family interment, friends are invited to share fellowship at the Ukrainian Hall, Shoal Lake, on Saturday, January 20, at 2:30 p.m. Raes Funeral Service of Shoal Lake are in care of the arrangements.
