MARGARET ELLEN ANDREWS It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Ellen Andrews on Wednesday, January 17 at the Health Sciences Centre, as the result of a stroke. Margaret passed away surrounded by her family. Left to mourn her passing is her beloved husband of 53 years Robert (Bob) daughter Arlene and husband Pat Shirkey; son Doug; brothers, Robert (Lil) Don, Art (Elsie) Don; brother-in-law Tom (Cis) Andrews and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and by her many friends and neighbours. To so many she was known as "Aunty Marg". She will also be sadly missed by her dogs Shadow and Cali. Margaret was predeceased by her father Robert in 1947; her mother Ellen in 1979; and sister Joan in December, 2000. She was born in Winnipeg on March 15, 1927. She married Bob on June 4, 1948. Margaret was a long-time resident of East Kildonan and Morse Place and was a member of St. Saviours Anglican Church. She was a choir member, Sunday School teacher, and belonged to the ACW. She enjoyed baking, shopping, Thanksgiving at Clear Lake, family get togethers and outings with niece Lyn, who she considered to be a second daughter. Margaret enjoyed traveling to Florida, BC, and had several trips to Hawaii with Bob, Pat, and Arlene. One of her favourites were our times spent in Grand Forks and Fargo. The family would like to thank all our family, friends, and neighbours for all their love, support, and prayers during the past week. Thanks also to Rev. Rick Condo for his visits, prayers, and comfort. Thanks to the Paramedics and staff at Concordia Hospital for their care. Special thanks to Dr. A. Kaufman and the nurses of the ICU and GD-2 at the Health Sciences Centre for doing everything in their power to allow Margaret to die in comfort and with dignity. Flowers are gratefully declined. If so desired, a donation in her memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Road, Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 23 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Saviours Anglican Church, Munroe Ave. and Grey St. with Rev. Richard Condo presiding. Dear Mom - Not only was I blessed with the greatest Mom, you were also a best friend to me. You have left so many people with special memories to treasure. I know you are at peace now and are with the angels in Heaven. Love Arlene. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
