BERTA STENGERT After a brief illness, our beloved mother Berta Stengert, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2001, at the Luther Home in Winnipeg, at the age of 92. She is survived by her daughter Erika Grabowecky and husband Myron, of Winnipeg, and one son Herbert Stengert and wife Carol, of Prince George, BC. Also mourning her passing is her son-in-law Ernest Golke of Winnipeg, husband to Bertas daughter Jean, who predeceased her. She also leaves behind six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, who she loved dearly. Berta was predeceased by her husband Reinhold, one grandson Robert and three infant children. Berta was born in Poland and came to Canada with her husband and family in 1949. They farmed in Saskatchewan before moving to Winnipeg in 1955. Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 22 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Johns Lutheran Church, 370 McKenzie St., with Pastor Michael F. Mechsner officiating, with viewing half hour before the service. A private family interment will follow the service. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Flowers gratefully declined.
