Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAGNES GUNKEL Agnes Gunkel passed away at the Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home on January 17, 2001, at the age of 99 years. She was born in Recklinghausen, Germany, January 14, 1902, and came to Canada in 1958. She leaves to cherish her memory son Bernhard (Lisbeth) in Germany; daughter Luzia in Germany; daughter Maria (Paul), son Fred (Rose) and daughter Margaret (Tony) all of Winnipeg; 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; son-in-law John Knudsen (Birgit) of Squamish, B.C.; brother Albert in Germany and sister Luzia in Poland and many friends and acquaintances. Agnes was predeceased by husband Fritz, daughter Hedi and son-in-law Herbert. Prayers will be held on Friday, January 19, at 6:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 20, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Josephs Roman Catholic Church, Mountain and Andrews, with Rev. Fr. Diosdado Parrenas officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Fred Gunkel, Anthony Gunkel, John Gunkel, Paul Kiel, Carson Felser and Christopher Meleck. The family would like to thank the staff at Bethania fortaking care of Oma Vergelts Gott. Should friends so desire, donations in Agnes memory may be made to the Bethania Personal Care Home.
