WALTER ANTONISHIN After a brief illness on January 18, 2001 at Seven Oaks Hospital, Walter Antonishin, age 68, of Winnipeg. Walter was born in Melfort, SK on November 2, 1932 and remained there until he was eight. From there the family moved to Thunder Bay, ON. Living in Winnipeg for the last 40 years, Walter was greatly appreciated by a great many people due to his kind, giving nature. With his wife of 34 years Mary, they gave of themselves without thanks through the Foster Parents Program for 12 years, caring for 29 children. Walter is survived by his wife Mary; sons, Mark and Wayne; daughter-in-law Carmel; grandson Reese; sisters, Mary, Natalie and their families. Walter was predeceased by his father Michael and mother Theodosia. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 22 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
