Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLAWRENCE RUSSELL McKAY On Thursday, January 18, 2001, Lawrence Russell McKay at the age of 81, passed away peacefully. Lawrence was born in Assesippi Valley on June 29, 1919. He farmed with his parents until he joined the army in 1941 and served in the Second World War as an Engineer. He was discharged in 1946, and began his career as a commercial salesman at Brownstones, travelling all around Manitoba until his retirement. Lawrence was predeceased by his wife Gail, whom he loved dearly, in March 2000. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Derek (Suzanne), Carter (Debbie) his daughter Rowney (Rod) stepchildren, Joan (Brian), and Diana (Dave) grandchildren, Shawn, Michael, Shane (Janet), Vicky (Mark), Brenda, Michael, Aren, Leslie, Kate, and Daniel; great-grandchild Veronica; sister Peggy; brother Nat (Bea) and sister-in-law Dorothy. Dad enjoyed life, especially bowling and golfing. He loved his family and would help any way he could, in his kind, gentle way. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 23 at 1:30 p.m., with viewing at 1:00 p.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. No. 1 East at Green Acres Lane. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Larrys memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba Inc., 10 - 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
