ALICE VIDA ROBERTSON Peacefully, at the Victoria General Hospital, Winnipeg, MB, on January 17, 2001, Alice Vida Robertson, daughter of the late John Beattie and Christina Robertson. Alice is survived by two sisters, Jean and Marjorie, as well as many nieces and nephews. Alice was born and educated in Winnipeg and graduated as an RN from the Winnipeg General Hospital, with the class of 1928. She nursed for some years at the King Edward Hospital, leaving to join the Army as a Nursing Sister in 1942. She travelled on the Queen Elizabeth in July, 1943 to join No. 13 Canadian General Hospital in Great Britain, and continued in the service until 1945. After her return to Canada she went to the West Coast and nursed for many years in Shaughnessy Hospital in Vancouver. In her retirement she continued to enjoy many interests, travel, nature and the outdoors, golf and reading. In 1999 Alice and her sister, Marjorie, returned to Winnipeg to be nearer to other family members. Cremation has taken place and a private service for the immediate family has been held.
