VALERIE PAINCHAUD (nee PUCHALSKI) After a lengthy illness, Valerie Painchaud (nee Puchalski) peacefully passed away on Friday, January 19, 2001, surrounded by her family and friends, at the age of 58 in Winnipeg, Man. She will be missed and never forgotten by her husband Marcel Painchaud; her children, Denise Mortimer, Melanie Manning and Dan Painchaud; her sons-in-law, Todd Mortimer and Gord Manning; her grandchildren, Jackson and Duncan Mortimer; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Claire Painchaud, Brenda Keyser, Nicole Painchaud, May Painchaud, Barney Painchaud, Peter Murdock and Bernie Moore; her nieces, nephews and their spouses, Bob and Lise Pujo, Chantal Pujo and Brian Hahlweg, Dominique Pujo, Karl Schmid, Justin Schmid, Kalyn Murdock and Mackenzie Murdock; her aunts, uncles and friends. Val was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Mary Puchalski; her brother Barry Puchalski; her mother and father-in-law Claire and Antoine Painchaud and brother-in-law Robert Painchaud. Val was raised in the Grandview area. She moved to Winnipeg after completing High School. Shortly thereafter, she met Marcel and they were married in 1964. Val quickly became a cherished member of the Painchaud family. She enjoyed raising a family and working at the Belgian Credit Union. Val loved life and people. She found joy and happiness in all aspects of her life, especially in her children and grandchildren. She was a kind and thoughtful person who put the needs of others in front of her own. Her strength, determination and will to live was and continues to be an inspiration to us all. We will truly miss such a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. The family thanks all of the doctors, nurses and staff at the St. Boniface General Hospital, and in particular those in the Dialysis Unit, who were so devoted to Vals care. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, January 23 at 8:00 p.m. at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood St. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, January 24 at 11:00 a.m., also at St. Bernadette Parish. Flowers are gratefully declined.
