Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPHILLIP ALLAN DESJARDINS November 3, 1939 - January 17, 2001 It is with great sadness the family of Allan Desjardins announces his sudden passing at his home in Golden, B.C. Allan was born in Vita, Man., to Phil and Jonina Desjardins. Allan grew up and went to school in Piney and Deleau, Man. He later joined the Navy and eventually settled in Golden, where he was a millwright for many years at Evans Wood Products mill. Allan was predeceased by a sister in infancy in November 1940; his father Phil in August 1976; sister Edna Gunn in October 1977; nephew Robbie Bucksovich in July 1981 and brother Pat in July 1991. Allan is survived by his son Kevin of Burnaby, B.C.; daughter Doria and family of Calgary, Alta.; mother Jonina of Winnipeg; sister Arlene Bucksovich of Neepawa; brother Cameron and sister Wendy Pavlick, both of Winnipeg. Allan was a very special person, very kind and generous. He loved his family, people in general, and people loved him. He had many, many friends and was called Uncle or Grandpa by many children, they just loved him. He was always kidding, teasing, telling jokes and loved telling stories. Allan took great pride in being involved with the Legion, Branch 122 in Golden where he was the President for many years. He did a lot of work for various charities, but the one he did the most for was for the Childrens Hospital Foundation. Allan will be deeply missed by his family and friends. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. He will join his brother Pat on the mountainside in Armstrong, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Childrens Hospital Foundation, 1820 Richmond Rd., S.W Calgary, Alta., T2T 5C7.
