Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLENA SLOBIDNYK On Saturday, January 20, 2001, Lena Slobidnyk, aged 86, died peacefully at Holy Family Nursing Home. Lena was born on January 1, 1915 in Fisher Branch, MB, where she was raised and educated. She farmed in Broad Valley until 1960, and then moved to Winnipeg. Her life centred around her children and grandchildren, always showing kindness, love and generosity to them. Left to cherish Lenas memory are her five children, June McDougald, Elizabeth Barillot (Eugene), Frederick Fial (fiancee Dolores), Grace Hogg (Robert), Deanna Cummer; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters in Canada and Ukraine. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 26 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St., with Mr. Robert Hogg officiating. Viewing will take place one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation or to Holy Family Nursing Home.
