Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILFRED (WILF) CROMPTON It is with sadness that Wilfs family announces his sudden passing on Sunday, January 21, 2001, age 77 years of Starbck, MB. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Nita of 48 years of marriage; sons, Neil (Dale), Roy, Craig and daughter Karen (Bob) eight grandchildren; brothers, Len and George; sisters, Marge and Shirley, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Edith; brothers, Kenneth and Norman, and by his sister Joan. Wilf spent his early years on the family farm near Nesbitt, MB and loved to share stories of his ramblings in his beloved hills accompanied by his brother Norman. Upon leaving the farm, Wilf put his mechanical skills to work, first at a garage in Minto, MB and then after marrying Nita in 1953 he began work at Crescent Creamery in Winnipeg where he was employed for over 30 years. He loved to tinker in his garage and kept many vehicles in good repair over the years for family and friends. On retirement from Crescent Creamery, Dad wanted to keep busy and began work with the R.M. of Macdonald operating the municipal dump in Sanford, retiring from there in 1996. With free time on his hands he was Moms devoted companion and the chief cook of the household. He loved to watch hockey and Saturday evenings were always reserved for Hockey Night in Canada and his Toronto Maple Leafs. Wilfs Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 27 at 2:00 p.m. in the Starbuck United Church, Starbuck, MB with Rev. Peter Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in the Starbuck United Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Wilfs memory to the Arthritis Society, 105 - 386 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R6. "Hell always be remembered As a man, both strong and good. Who gave his best for others And who did the best he could.
