Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY ELEANOR BORTHWICK Peacefully, on Sunday, January 21, 2001, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mary Eleanor Borthwick, passed away at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her husband John Charles in 1991; brother Charles Harry Say in 1991; and grandson Rodney Bruce Downs in 1991. Mary will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Kathleen Eleanor Downs (Colin) of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Michael John Downs (Roxy), Deborah Anne Genung (Evan), Colleen Mary Haglund (Patrick) six great-grand-children; sister Kathleen May Sigurdson; special friends, Irene Charleton and Betty Prendergast; nephews and nieces. She was a longtime member of the Cathedral of St. Johns. Mom loved bowling for the Cardinal Ladies and the Prince Edward Ladies. She enjoyed baking and sewing and will be missed by all. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 23 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Johns, 135 Anderson Ave. with The Very Rev. Dean Bob Osborne officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be Evan Genung and Patrick Haglund. Active pallbearers will be Colin Downs, Michael Downs, Clayton Downs, Donald Charleton, Ken Charleton and Charles Say. The family would like to thank the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg and all the staff on A1 Apple Tree for their excellent care.
