JOHN MOTZ Peacefully on Saturday, January 20, 2001, at the Seven Oaks Hospital, John Motz passed away after a lengthy illness. John was born on December 22, 1926 to John and Katharina Motz in Winnipegs North End where he resided his whole life. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1943 to 1945. In 1947 he began working for AEI Telecommunications until his retirement in 1985 due to his disability. He married Katherine Weik on December 17, 1949 and they celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary last year. John was a devoted family man who was dedicated to his mother. He spent many happy hours in his retirement, woodworking, walking his dog and visiting his fellow mall walkers. John was predeceased by his father John in 1972 and mother Katherina in 1991. John is survived by his wife Katherine; sons, Jack and wife Ingrid, Rick and fiancee Darlene; brother Mike; beloved sister Kay of Sherbrooke, Quebec; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, as well as many nephews and nieces. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. J. Karvelas and the staff of the Seven Oaks Hospital for their compassion and care as well as a special thanks to Paula and other neighbours for their support. In accordance with Johns wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to a charity of your choice.
