CARMINE MILITANO On Saturday, January 20, 2001 surrounded by his family Carmine Militano, husband, father, grandfather, brother passed into the hands of God. Predeceased by his parents, Rosa Filleti, Carmine; mother and father-in-law, Giovanni and Grazia Scarcella; brother Giovanni; brothers-in-law, Michele Zirino, Giuseppe Scarcella and sisters-in-law, Rosa and Pasqualina Scarcella and cousins, Luiggi Occhino and Giuseppe Filleti. Left to mourn, his wife Domenica of 43 years; daughters, Rosa (Rocco Giampaolo), Angela (Alberto DOttavio) and Melina (Joe DeLuca) grandchildren, Patrizia and Carmelo Giampaolo, Mariella and Matthew DOttavio and Domenica and Antonio DeLuca. Also left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Antonio (Lina), Domenico (Carmela) Giuseppe (Shirley) sister Angela Zirino; sister-in-law Annuziata and Aunt Pasqualina Filleti and cousins. In Italy brother Rocco (Alfonzina) and sister Rosa (Domenico) in-laws, Giovanni, Domenico, Antonino, Fedele and Rocco Scarcella; brother-in law Carmelo Cicconi and families. His warm smile, generous nature will be sadly missed by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends in Italy, Canada, and the United States. Carmine was a strong determined man who was a source of inspiration and guidence for his children as he never focused on obstacles instead he overcame them. "Your illness took away your memory and dignity, but never your beautiful smile. You are in the hands of the Lord now, And he shall give you peace." Visitation and Prayers be held on Wednesday, January 24 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 24 at 10:30 am. also in the church, with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano Presiding at the Eucharist. Entombment will follow at the Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum, 1501 Waverley Street. Pallbearers will be sons-in-law, Rocco, Alberto and Joe; grandson Carmelo and friends, Roger and Darryl. Honorary Pallbearers to include nephews, Carmine, Carmine, and Carmine Militano, Carmine and Joe Zirino and Carlo Bettoni, Luiggi Occhino Jr. A special thanks to Roger and Darryl whose ongoing love, support and care went well beyond their commitment to their job as well the VONS and doctors and staff at the Grace Hospital Emergency.
