AGNES PATON DAVIS RAE (NANCY) It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful death of Nancy Rae on January 21, 2001. Nancy was predeceased by her mother and father, George and Harriet Hamilton; sisters, Cathy, Norah; brother George; brother-in-law Bobby all of Scotland. Left to cherish her memory, her beloved husband William; daughters, Irene and Nancy; sons, Thomas and Gordon; Mother-in-law to Terry Falconer, Gary Smith and Susan Rae. Treasured grandmother to Andrew (Leanne) Falconer, Jamie Falconer and Rob (Jodi) Falconer, Chad Smith (Misha), Dean Smith (Tracey), Iain, Colin and Graeme Rae. Beloved sisters in Scotland, Jenny (Bill), Hetty, Isa (Jim), Elsa (Jim) brother John (Jenny) Hamilton, many nieces and nephews in Scotland, Harriet Drybrough (Doug), Wpg., George Moore (Perth, Australia), Bill (Sharlain) Bickerton, Elkhorn, MB, Donna (Harold) Grabowski, Toronto. Mom was born February 4, 1921 in Glasgow, Scotland. The second eldest child of George and Harriet Hamilton. Mom and Dad married in 1942 and immigrated to Winnipeg in 1952 with three children in tow. In 1958 Gordon was born. Her active career as a proof reader, Bookbinder, member of Eastern Star OES No. 25 provided her many years of enjoyment and opportunity to establish several life long friends, the dearest being Mary Evans. She took great delight in her artistic endeavors; ceramics, knitting and baking. Mom was very professional in all her mannerisms. "Always a Great Lady" Her greatest joy was from her football team of grandsons, Big Strapping Boys. The family of Nancy and Bill wish to express sincere gratitude to family friend Dr. Brian Sharkey for years of excellent care and emotional support. Also a thank you to Drs. Lotocki, Heywood and Krepart at the St. Boniface Cancer Clinic for their recent care. Thank you Ann. A Service of Remembrance to celebrate Nancys life will be held on Thursday, January 25 at 1:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley Street. Flowers are welcomed or donations may be made in Nancys memory to CancerCare, Manitoba Foundation, 100 Oliva Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3E OV9.
