Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT ROY CALDWELL Peacefully on January 21, 2001 at the Eriksdale Personal Care Home, Robert Roy Caldwell passed away at the age of 84 years after a lengthy battle with cancer. Roy was born on February 23, 1916 in Emo, ON. Roy had worked at M.T.S., was a trapper and a farmer and was a veterinarian for his neighbours and friends which he would do anytime, day or night. It was commercial fishing on the lake, however, that gave him the most enjoyment in life. Roy will be missed by his sons, Donald Caldwell of Winnipeg, MB, Dave (June) Caldwell of Fisher Branch, MB, and Art (Lena) Caldwell of Winnipeg; son-in-law John Johnson of Selkirk, MB. Afi will be missed by his grandchildren, Joe Caldwell, Doreen Caldwell, Davy Caldwell and Nicole Caldwell, Lonnie (Holly) Johnson, Lani Johnson (Theo Deboer), Aimee (Pete) Monkman, Tania (Mike) Slater; great-grandchildren, Taylor Caldwell, Tyler Johnson and Natalia Johnson, Skylar Deboer and Austin Deboer, Makayla Monkman, Elizabeth Slater, Tyson Slater; a sister Jean Bagley; brothers, Don and Hugh Caldwell, along with many family members, relatives and good friends. He was predeceased by his first wife Bjorg on September 2, 1985; his daughter Lillian Johnson on June 2, 1995; his second wife Sarah on February 16, 2000 and also a daughter in infancy, Louise. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26 at the Lundar Legion Hall with the Rev. Canon Fr. Ron McCullough officiating. Service will conclude at the hall with interment to be held at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be all of his grandchildren. Special thanks to Dr. Burnet and the staff of the care home for the comfort and care they gave our Dad and Afi. Roy had a story for every occasion which were enjoyed by all.
