Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT (BOB) ALEXANDER It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather Robert (Bob) Alexander, on Sunday, January 21, 2001, at 6:00 p.m. at St. Boniface Hospital. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Trudy of 54 years; his daughter Lisa Publow (Jon) and grandchildren, Miranda, Robert and Evan; his mother-in-law Ethel Harder (Phil) sister-in-law Joyce McMillan (Bob) of Kelowna, B.C.; brother-in-law Lorne Knowles and many nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his sister Kay Mordue and his brother Don, both of Winnipeg. Bob was born in Cobourg, Ont., in 1922 and was raised in Winnipeg where he spent the rest of his life. He went to school in the west end area until he joined the R.C.A.F. in 1941. He was in the Air force for the duration of the Second World War. After the war he entered the Ontario College of Art in Toronto and this is where Trudy and Bob were married in 1946. He spent the rest of his working life in sales, retiring in 1984. From then on Bob and Trudy spent their winters in the California desert until Bob was unable to travel. The desert was one of Bobs favourite places. Bob, Trudy and Lisa also spent many years on their hobby farm in Anola, Man. They loved entertaining and had company almost every weekend. Dad loved to play farmer and work on his many cars which was his real passion. Bobs other interests were music, cooking, art, wildlife and more recently, fishing with his very best buddy Dave Rivest and his family. Throughout Bobs life he had many wonderful friends who shared with him his great love of life and his great sense of humour. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 25, at 10:00 a.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. Flowers gratefully declined; should friends so desire donations may be made in Bobs memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, Man., R3B 2H8.
