Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVID MEYER GOLDSTEIN 1912 - 2001 With deep sorrow we mourn the passing of David Meyer Goldstein on January 21, 2001. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Betty of 51 years; children, Esther (Richard) Steiman, Miles (Sarah) Goldstein; grandchildren, Tobiah, Raz and Zoe Goldstein; remaining brother Joe Goldstein (L.A.) together with extended family and friends. Dave attended St. Johns High School and the University of Manitoba. He loved learning and remained an avid reader. In the 1930s he studied refrigeration and opened Daves Refrigeration in 1936. During the Second World War he was a crew supervisor at Macdonald Aircraft and then joined the army. After the war he resumed his business. He was an inventor who enjoyed research and experimentation. Dave was a life-long member of the House of Ashkenazie Synagogue. His dedication was reflected in his religious observance and how he lived his life. Dave was a role model of gentle goodness and selflessness. His generosity and kindness earned him great respect and admiration. He was an inspiration to all. Funeral services were held on January 23 at the Chesed Shel Emes, officiated by Rabbi Altein, with pallbearers, Tobiah and Raz Goldstein, Richard Steiman, Bruce Sarbit, Dr. Ken Baron, and Yale Singer. Zoe Goldstein fervently sang a meditation in honour of her grandfather. Sarah Goldstein gave a poignant eulogy, on behalf of the family, as a tribute to David Goldsteins life. Donations may be made in David Goldstein s memory to a charity of your choice.
