REVEREND FR. PAUL CROUCH, SJ Director of St. Pauls High School At the Montserrat Retreat House in Lake Dallas, Texas, on Tuesday January 23, 2001, in his 51st year and in the 26th year of his religious life. Fr. Crouch was born in 1950 in Strathroy, Ontario, and entered the Society of Jesus in 1975. He was the son of the late Paul McNeil and Bernice (nee Fulton). He was predeceased by his loving adoptive father Oscar Crouch. Upon completion of the Novitiate at Guelph and studies in Detroit and Regis College in Toronto, he was ordained to the priesthood in 1983. He was assigned to St. Pauls High School in Winnipeg, Manitoba from 1984 to 1991. During those early years of ministry as a teacher at the school, Paul discovered his great love for the Christian work of the education of youth. In 1993 he was named Principal of Gonzaga High School in Newfoundland. From 1995 to 1999 he was assigned to be the Province Treasurer. In January of 1999 he was assigned to St. Pauls High School as the Director of the high school. For the remainder of his life he worked in the school he loved and in the city that had become his second home. Paul leaves to mourn his passing his Jesuit Brothers; his mother Bernice Crouch and his sister Mary Crouch, both of Strathroy, Ont.; his brother and sister-in law Tom and Karen Crouch and nephew Kyle Crouch of New Hamburg, Ont.; and his niece Tara Carter, her husband Ed and daughter Darrian of Strathroy. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ignatius Church, 255 Stafford St., at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 27, with reception to follow at St Pauls High School. Burial at Jesuit Cemetery, Guelph, Ont., in the spring. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made, if desired, to the Fr.
