Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY YEE (nee Maria Klym) Sadness fills our hearts as we announce the passing of Mary Yee on January 21, 2001 at Concordia Hospital. Mom was born in Gimli, Man. on August 10, 1911. During her younger years, she owned and operated a family restaurant both in Gimli and Winnipeg. Her pride and joy were her children and her everlasting love for them will shine brightly forever. She held deep affection for her brothers, sisters and friends. Mom took great pride in all her endeavours. She loved cooking, gardening, sewing, playing the harmonica and arts and crafts. She always had a song to cheer people up. Her favourite pastime was playing bingo. Mom enjoyed people contact and her warmth, kindness and humour attracted many. Her door was forever opened for family, friends and acquaintances. To cherish her memory, Mary leaves her children, Benjamin F. Yee (Ann), Lloyd (Lorna) Yee, Shirley (Roger) Mousseau, Gloria Wangen (Danny), 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, brother Stephen Klym, sisters, Sylvia Borson and Anne Pondy, daughter of love, Lana and Mr. Petriew as well as many nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by daughter Florence H. Gregora. Interment will be held at Holy Ghost Cemetery in Gimli, Man. on January 28 at 3:00 p.m. A gathering of immediate family will be held at the Gimli Resort Hotel. Special thanks from the family to the staff and nurses at Bethania Mennonite PCH especially Maria Phillips and Dr. E. Doermer. Your care for Mom will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Foundation of Manitoba. Mom, You were always there when we needed you, no task too great or small. With a loving heart and a helping hand, for us you did them all. Many thanks for all the years you gave us and for all the times we shared, We knew that when you left us, you knew how much we cared. - With all our love, your children.

Hi Mom, Glo and I talk about you like you're just in the next room. We miss your big welcoming heart—how you were always feeding everyone, playing your harmonica, and singing “You Are My Sunshine” or that silly “Wancouver” song that made us all laugh. We still smile remembering the trip to Peachland when you made those peach pies, and how the next morning, the grandkids grabbed a pie each and headed to the dock to swim. They adored you so much that all their friends wanted a ‘Baba,’ too. We remember that your door was never locked—not to family, not to friends, not to anyone who needed a place at your table. You must have your gold wings by now, and we wonder how you are up there, Say Hello to Dad (King), and give Benny, Flo, Mitchell, and Justin a huge hug from Glo and I. We miss all of you so deeply, and not a day goes by that we don’t wish we could hear each of you (just one more time). You are all forever in our hearts. We love you, Mom. Hi Mom, Well here we are 23 years later. Glo comes out almost every year to visit and we have lots of laughs and reminisce about you and how you always had a way to bring laughter into our lives. Remember the 'rubber chicken'. Ha Ha. Gary still loves that story. Hopefully, Ben, Justin and Mitchell are with you and you all have gold wings by now and singing in God's choir. I can still hear you playing on the harmonica, 'You Are my Sunshine'. We think of you often, Mom. Sure miss you, Ben and the kids. Give them all a hug from Glo and Me. Missing all of you! - Posted by: Shirley and Glo (Daughters) on: Jul 06, 2024

Mom! If we had to get the last chance to meet you we would just ask you to hug us as tight as you can. We miss you a lot! We miss the 7:00 pm phone calls. We miss you singing "You Are My Sunshine". We miss going out for Chinese food and then to bingo. We miss all the laughs. You are forever in our heart and thoughts and we love you. - Posted by: Shirley and Glo (Daughters) on: Feb 07, 2020
